Running my fingers
Through the broken walls
The broken windows
And
The broken lives
I look around
The world
Which
Is blurred and salty
But
I manage to see
Debris and a few faces
faces, only faces, mind you
Of the terrified mothers
And
Their children, expressionless
Only their eyes
Seem to speak
A language where
Every saccade
Every blink
Every tear
Is a synonym of help.
The wails and cries of the mother,
As she tries to free her child
Seem to convey
That her body bares
The pain of not one
But of two mortal humans
Who are
Gladly mortal
But
Woefully human.
